Rapid analysis of affordable housing and advice on structuring PPP transactions to promote affordable housing

AHI and its partners in Australia and Vanuatu supported IFC's affordable housing program in Vanuatu through the preparation of a business case that presents a viable option for a pilot PPP transaction for the development of affordable housing in partnership with the Government of Vanuatu, and in particular the Vanuatu National Provident Fund (VNPF). The team of consultants is supporting IFC's team of transaction advisors in assessing the opportunity for affordable housing on four islands in the Vanuatu archipelago, namely Efate, Santo, Tanna, and Malekula. The project considers climate resilience in the design of buildings and housing. The team is working on a rapid analysis of eight sites in Vanuatu, following which three sites will be shortlisted to prepare a business plan.
