Maldives Demand-Side Housing Reform Roadmap Recommendations
Project Details
AHI is contracted by the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure (MoCHI), under guidance of the World Bank MUDRP task team, to provide a demand-side reform strategy that is actionable and fiscally sustainable while addressing Maldives’ unique housing challenge. The approach of this exercise is data-driven based on financial analyses, stakeholder engagement and feedback integration, and international best-practice frameworks. This project is a continuation of prior engagement and projects with MUDRP, and builds on previous work on a sustainable housing policy reform study and social rent-to-own housing program reform.
The objective is to ensure the program’s long-term sustainability, both fiscally and operationally, while minimizing housing insecurity for current residents.
This assignment led by AHI is occurring concurrently and collaboratively alongside the Survey Team led by Riyan Private Ltd. and the Supply-Side Team led by IDOM to deliver a comprehensive reform package.
