Project Details

AHI and its partners in Australia and the Solomon Islands were commissioned by IFC to design affordable housing public-private partnerships for the Solomon Islands National Provident Fund (SINPF). The project included consideration for climate resilience in the building and housing design.  The project helped SINPF to assess options and possibilities to develop an affordable housing project adapted to the needs and demand of the targeted households. Due diligence components included a household survey to assess housing supply, demand, and preferences; a remote mission to inform a housing market assessment; a regulatory constraints analysis; environmental and social risks screening report; land and utilities report; and preliminary project costings. The final step of the project was the development of a financial model and business plan for the implementation of the project.
