Bolivia’s housing ecosystem: Assessment for program recommendations

The Bolivian Chamber of Real Estate Developers (CBDI) initiated a dialogue with the Government of Bolivia to highlight the housing sector’s importance, uncover actionable opportunities for immediate intervention, and foster practical collaboration among CBDI, its members, and government stakeholders. Supporting this effort, AHI conducted a comprehensive assessment of Bolivia’s housing sector to pinpoint the key challenges affecting affordability of housing in Bolivia from both supply and demand perspectives. We then developed policy recommendations supported by learnings and experiences from other countries with characteristics similar to Bolivia’s current situation, and led an affordable housing forum with important stakeholders in the Bolivian housing ecosystem at the national and local level.
