Consultancy for the creation of a temporary rental Housing program for migrants and refugees in Panama

AHI created a pilot program on temporary rental housing to improve the housing situation of migrants and refugees in Panama City. We assessed the housing situation of migrants and refugees in Panama City through key informant interviews (KIIs) and focus group discussions (FGDs) with migrants from different communities. We also conducted a diagnostic of vacant housing in Panama City and an international and regional benchmark of rental housing programs and housing solutions for migrants. After the diagnostic phase, we identified legal, financial, and operational instruments that served to build a pilot rental housing program for facilitating access to housing for migrants and refugees.
