Project Details

The Bringing School Home theory of impact is that PHAs can create, and maintain, an education-enriched environment on their campuses to allow learning to continue beyond the universally-available school schedule. While the BSH model – housing + an education partner + the school district – has been inspired by Boulder’s experience of the past twenty years, the Loveland community will have the opportunity to use the model to design their own program. BSH will help communities develop a program that can offer education and social supports for children and parents from birth through college graduation.

AHI consulted for both Bringing School Home and Loveland Housing Authority. We organized the initial education plan, developed the strategic plan, and developed the project plan for LHA’s Kids Club Literacy Project, an initiative of LHA to transform the clubhouse space at their affordable housing complexes into places of learning and enrichment for the community.
