Mechanisms for the financing of social housing in Nicaragua
Project Details
The project consisted of the preparation of diagnostics on the Nicaraguan housing finance market and its institutions to enable a focused evaluation of public programs and their comparison with those implemented in other countries in the region with potential application to the context. We developed eleven instruments to promote the financing of social housing (urban and rural areas), and allow the recovery of capital gains in housing projects for low-income families in Nicaragua. We provided recommendations to contribute to the dynamization of the social housing market (urban and rural areas), and to improve quality, expand production, and catalyze the financing of new housing.
