Central African Economic and Monetary Community (CEMAC) Affordable Housing Finance Strategic Roadmap

The Affordable Housing Institute was commissioned by the World Bank to evaluate and design options to promote the growth of housing finance across all income groups in the CEMAC countries. Working with the World Bank team, the Development Bank of Central African States (BDEAC), and the Central Bank of Central African States (BEAC), the team developed strategies to improve access to affordable housing by strengthening the supply and demand value chains, expand the range of affordable housing financing products for low-income households, and increase the feasibility of a mortgage refinancing facility in the region.
