Irfan Keshavjee

Non-Executive Director at Diamond Trust Bank Kenya

Irfan Keshavjee is an entrepreneur, investor, and corporate advisor with more than 25 years of boardroom and CEO experience building, scaling, and financing businesses across East Africa. As a co-founder of Karibu Homes, an award-winning affordable housing developer in Kenya, he has pioneered market-driven approaches to delivering master-planned housing communities accessible to low- and middle-income families.

Irfan brings a blend of governance discipline, entrepreneurial execution, and investor credibility to AHI’s global mission. He served for 13 years as an Independent Non-Executive Director of Diamond Trust Bank Kenya, a Tier 1 listed regional bank with $4bn in assets. Across his ventures, Irfan has raised over $30m in private, impact, and DFI capital from family offices, institutional investors, and DFI’s to drive growth in housing, agriculture, and retail.

He is also a co-founder of Honey Care Africa, an award-winning social enterprise featured in Harvard case studies that transformed rural livelihoods by integrating over 20,000 smallholder farmers into sustainable supply chains. An Ashoka Fellow and Acumen Fellow, Irfan has a longstanding track record of leveraging market-based approaches to address complex social and economic challenges across emerging markets.

Through Oakridge Advisors, Irfan advises family enterprises, developers, and entrepreneurs on capital raising, board governance, growth, and succession. Irfan holds an MBA from the University of Oxford Saïd Business School and a B.Sc. in Civil-Environmental Engineering from Queen’s University, Canada. He also holds a Certificate in Housing Finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
